Enrichment and analysis of glycated proteins

چکیده

Abstract Glycation is a spontaneous post-translational modification of lysine, arginine, and the N-terminus proteins. Protein glycation closely related to pathogenesis human diseases, including diabetes, Alzheimer’s disease, renal cancer. The levels advanced end products (AGEs) are positively correlated with progression many diseases. However, it remains challenging analyze glycation-related products, such as reactive carbonyl species, Schiff bases, Amadori compounds, AGEs, because their high heterogeneity. Many analysis methods, fluorescence detection, immunoassays, liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry, have attempted correlate Some enrichment methods been used increase probability detection glycated proteins due low abundance in blood plasma. This review summarizes that currently identify disease biomarker exploratory studies.

Correlation between saliva glycated and blood glycated proteins.

OBJECTIVES Blood and saliva samples were obtained to examine if there is a correlation between saliva glycated protein and blood glycated protein. METHODS Blood and saliva samples of 51 male workers were collected. The fructosamine and hydrazine methods were used to measure saliva glycated protein. HbA1c, fructosamine and blood glucose were measured as indices of blood glycated protein, and t...

Strategies for proteomic analysis of blood glycated proteins

of proteins, non-enzymatic glycation is one of the less frequently studied in proteomics. Glycated proteins are formed by a non-enzymatic reaction between reducing carbohydrates (e.g., glucose, fructose, ribose or derivatives such as ascorbic acid) with amino groups located in N-terminal position or in lysine and arginine residues (Figure 1) [1]. Analytical guidelines required to succeed in the...
